Class Description:
Accompanied by their parents, children will experience their bodies in motion while having fun and developing coordination, strength, and flexibility. We will foster creativity through the expressive body in dance, improvisation, and play. Use of the voice and song will support the movement experience.
About the Instructor:
Laura Katzman is a dance choreographer/performer/teacher, who recently earned her Master of Fine Arts in Dance from the University of Oregon. Laura studied Dance and Sociology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She attended Anne Green Gilbert's Brain-Compatible Dance Education Workshop in Seattle in 2009. She currently works at the Amazon Community Center Preschool and teaches the Gym Babies and Mini-Jumpers classes to kids 14 months to 4 years of age. She has a special love of teaching young children the joy of movement.
Susanna Meyer is a dance choreographer/performer/teacher, trained in many forms of dance. She is also certified as a teacher of Pilates and the Feldenkrais method. She has traveled around the world studying dance and music from various cultures, and brings her knowledge and love of world cultures to the class.
